Sparkly Pony Corral

Every camp has a sparkle pony-brings 60 costumes - forgets H2O. Sometimes you need a break! Bring your sparkle pony to our corral 9am-6pm daily. (Recent funding has allowed us to expand our hours from our original limited schedule.) We'll stroke their ego & give them sustenance while your camp gets some peace & quiet. Sparkle ponies will be rehydrated, showered w/ compliments & ready to re-enter your camp.

Sparkle Pony Interactivity

This year we intend to offer the best of services by calming the dramatic sparkle pony that every camp has, give them words of encouragement, and give their camps a small break from drama. We intend to host a Sparkle Pony Parade in the neighborhood as well, which will be followed up by our famous Mooper Scoopers. We know that Sparkle Ponies can't keep track of time (who can out there?) and so we know we will informally host ponies and visitors of all kinds thorughout the day and week. Also, this year, we have embarked on a collaborative community agreement with Black Rock Animal Control. As BRCAC catches and releases furry creatures, they will be delivering stray sparkle ponies who need attention. We benefit from their ability to provide ponies with transportation services while SPC has certifiable experts aptly able to intake creatures BRCAC finds are in need of our special services.

Services offered daily from 9am-6pm.

Burning Man Oral History Project: Evolution of a Burner

In addition to capturing the sparkle ponies on site at our theme camp, we will be creating an oral history of the evolution of grace at Burningman and the evolution of a burner. Since first coming to BM and feeling overwhelmed by the unexpected and perhaps undeserved gifts bestowed upon us then and since, we have believed that Burning Man is a truly sacred place where grace resonated and amplified at every turn, if only one chooses to see it.

We will use our theme camp as a base camp to interview burners about their first year, their last year and why they keep returning, what their most spiritual and/or amazing experience has been out on the playa. Then we plan to podcast these interviews on our web site so other people can better understand what the draw is to return to the playa every year.

Yacht Rock Happy Hour

We will also host our 2nd annual Yacht Rock happy hour, Wednesday. Enjoy happy hour in your best Caddyshack, Love Boat, Fantasy Island, yacht-inspired costume while you enjoy boat drinks and the musical stylings of Christopher Cross, Michael McDonald, Stephen Bishop, Kenny Loggins and more. Whether you lived through it or just love it, nothing says smooth like adult contemporary music. Bring a cup and your smoothatude!

Smooth isn't just music, it's an attitude. It's easy joy and love: a soft, sea breeze blowing through your hair, the sweet sound of waves caressing the shoreline, making love at midnight on the dunes of the cape, sailing that takes me away to where I'm going...(All mobile water craft are heartily encouraged to attend!)

Red Dress Drag Race

Thursday at 1pm. Sparkle Pony Corral will host the 1st Annual Red Dress Drag Race. All you need is your willingness to participate and hopefully a red dress. Additional red dresses will be available at the event. We may not have the 1950s hot rods, but we know there will be plenty of hot bods racing around our obstacle course in saucy red dresses. Hosted and MCed by the one and only Svetlana, prepare to laugh, cry and ultimately drag yourself through this event. After party is a must to attend!
