Playa music has come a long way since 1998, my first burn, when I attended the *one* all night dance party, hosted by Rave Camp, Sunday out near the parameter fence. In the ensuing years music camps exponentially multiplied and so did my time trekking from 3 o’clock to 9 o’clock and back on the cold playa landscape in search of bootie shakin’ tracks. And then, during one of those buzz-kill inducing hikes, my friend asked me, “What if we knew where all the music camps were? Then we’d be there already, DANCING.” And so began my playa gift, the big sound camp music calendar, because I’m always a strong proponent for more dancing.
